HR 347 (anti-protesting bill) allows the filing of felony charges against anyone practicing free speech where the secret service is operating. The NDAA allows for the military detention of anyone suspected of “supporting” (undefined in legislation) any terror group. Hamas is the leading political voice in Palestine. The US State Department labels Hamas as a terror organization. Therefore, protesting against the Israeli occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem or donating to a Palestinian aid foundation could be deemed as “supporting” a terror organization. Only time will tell if this is a stretch.
